Storm Update – Friday Return to Normal Operations

The Stanford Campus fared well during Wednesday evening’s storm and campus operations are expected to return to normal by Friday, January 6. Those who normally work on campus may return on Friday.

Stanford Redwood City Campus employees are expected to continue to work remotely until Monday, January 9. Healthcare operations at Stanford and Stanford Redwood City have not been impacted.

Operations at the Stanford Research Park are continuing as usual. Childcare centers at the Stanford campus remain open.

When returning to campus, expect to see standing bodies of water on campus, including at some athletic fields and Lake Lagunita. It is incredibly important to refrain from entering standing water for your health and safety. Even water that appears safe can contain dangerous debris, bacteria, and deep mud, and is not safe for bathing, drinking, or recreational activities.

Similarly, please avoid driving through areas of standing water. Be aware of downed trees, limbs or power lines. Assume that any power line is energized and extremely dangerous.

To report flooding, downed trees, power lines or other storm-related hazards, please call 3-2281 or (650) 723-9633.
